Axel Owain Sinclair

Axel was born as Silas Heroux, heir to the Heroux noble family of Valience. He was the only son among five sisters, and he was his parents' pride and joy; the one they wanted to take over the helm of continuing the family tradition of becoming a royal knight. Although he resented his parents for the way they favored him and neglected his twin sister, Arielle, he loved helping others and did his best to follow in their footsteps.

When he was 15, he was sent to a training academy on the border of the kingdom. The Empire invaded the city he was in and he was taken as a prisoner of war. He was forced to be one of their foot soldiers, and desperate to survive, he followed their orders and devised a plan to rise up in the ranks. He guarded himself by shutting off his emotions, abandoning empathy, and heroism. Soon enough, he rose to the title of the Empress's personal lapdog, her guardian, "The Crimson Wolf." He was known for his cruelty and mercilessness, even striking down his own men - he did anything, if it was at her word.

But being her lapdog, her general, he knew the Empire would fall. He saw it from the start: she would blunder, and he would be on the front lines when she did, and he would finally be granted mercy in the form of death. However, when he did die, he found himself full of regret. He lamented the life he could have lived, mourned the family he could have had. His desire was so great that his soul clung to his body, and as it decomposed, his soul replaced what had been lost using the nature around it. Skin became bark, organs became flowers - he awoke with no memories, trapped in a suit of armor with a gash across his chest, and only a faint pull tugging him to his feet and into town.

Personality

Before becoming a Hollow, Axel never talked. He was only seen in his armor, and he commanded through sheer presence alone. He was cold, and never offered anymore insight into himself than a stoic glare. After becoming a Hollow, he acts more like himself if he hadn't been forced to put up so many walls. He's kind-hearted, a little oblivious, and an all-around dreamboat. He acts just like the perfect portrait of a knight, with a dazzling smile and chivalrous attitude. He's near himbo-like, but he's beat about everyone that goes up against him in chess.

  • As a kid, he dreamed of being a great knight who would sweep his true love off their feet and they'd have a big house and three kids! He even has the names: Adeline, Lucina, and Christopher.
